A lot of Black women were taught to wear strength like second skin.

But there’s a difference between being strong and being unsupported.

Too often, “she’s strong” becomes the reason nobody checks in deeper.
Nobody asks the follow up question.
Nobody notices how much she’s carrying.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Amanda Long as a workshop presenter at Mom Ish: The Experience.

Dr. Long is the owner of True Space Counseling and Psychological Services and founder of Black Women In Color, a healing centered community created to support Black women as they confront unhealthy patterns, reclaim their needs, and heal in culturally affirming spaces.

Her interactive workshop, "You Don’t Have to Do This Alone: Reclaiming Support, Rest & Self,” will help mothers explore the emotional weight of doing it all, release the guilt around asking for help, and reconnect with rest, boundaries, support, and community.

60 Easter baskets. 60 foster children in Illinois who deserve to wake up Sunday morning feeling seen, celebrated, and loved.

Black Mom Ish partnered with IL DCFS to make sure these babies didn't get left out of the holiday magic, and we couldn't have done it without this community. 🐰🥚
